During recent years there has been an impressive increase in the use of Space Technology and its Applications which are having a significant impact on the way we run our lives and businesses. Especially for Asia-pacific Region as geographically most wide and stretched region on the Globe, the Satellite-based Technologies and Applications play a vital role and have profound impact on Socio-economic development of the countries in the region. As the regional, inter-governmental, international space organization, the Asia-Pacific Space Cooperation Organization (APSCO) has also identified the Space Technology and Applications as one of the most important driving forces for development of the region, and would like to put it into its scientific exchange agenda to address it as one of high priority issues.
In this connection, APSCO Eighth International Symposium on Space Technology and Applications is being organized to address this issue with a specific emphasis on identifying the current state of the technology development and its applications in the region, and looking forward to the prospect for cooperation among APSCO Member States/ Associate Members and Observers and other countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
This Symposium will be organized in Lima, Peru in 3-6 October, 2016 by APSCO (http://www.apsco.int) jointly with Space Agency of Peru (CONIDA) (http://www.conida.gob.pe/) in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Peru.
The Symposium will focus on the issues of Satellite Data Sharing, Small Satellite Technologies and Space Benefits for Latin America with specific emphasis on current status of the development in the region, and future prospect for cooperation among APSCO Member States/ Associate Members and Observers as well as other countries in the region.
The APSCO Secretariat would like to use this opportunity to encourage and invite all related experts in each Member States/ Associate Members and Observers to submit paper and participate in the Symposium.
