The Training Course on Data Processing and Application of Remote Sensing Satellite was held from 11 to 22 May 2009 in Beijing, China. It was organized by Beihang University (BUAA), co-sponsored by APSCO Secretariat, MIIT of China and MICT of Thailand. There were 14 participants from nine Member States and Signatory States of APSCO, namely Bangladesh, China, Indonesia, Iran, Mongolia, Pakistan, Peru, Thailand and Turkey.
The Training Course focused on data receiving and processing and application of China-Brazil Earth Resources Satellite (CBERS) and HJ data giving emphasis on disaster monitoring and assessment. The applications of SPOT and THEOS data were also introduced. In total, 22 experienced professors and experts from both China and Thailand were invited to deliver their lectures to exchange and share experiences with the participants.
At the end of the training, the participants expressed their full satisfaction with those lectures and suggested to the APSCO Secretariat to arrange more training courses in diverse areas of space sciences and technologies in the future.
