The Vice-President of the Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU), Dr.Zhang Weihong and his delegation comprising Dr. SUN Wubin, Vice Dean of International College; Dr. Gou Xingwang, Deputy Director of Office of International Cooperation and Mr. Li Ziwei, International Cooperation Office visited APSCO Headquarters in Beijing on May 10, 2017.Mr. Li Yue, Division Director of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People¡¯s Republic of China (MIIT)also attended the Meeting. Dr. Li Xinjun, the Secretary General of APSCO and all International Staff of the APSCO received the guests. The Meeting was aimed at establishing bilateral cooperation on issues of mutual interest and signing an agreement on Degree Education.
The event was hosted by Dr. Mohammad Ebrahimi Seyedabadi, Director General of Department of Education Training and Database Management of APSCO. Dr. Li Xinjun, the Secretary General of APSCO welcomed the NPU delegation and highlighted the scope and prospects of long-term cooperation especially in Degree Education Programs in the space technology; and the prospects of cooperation on Research and Development (R&D) in space technology and applications with NPU. The Vice President of NPU, Dr. Zhang Weihong stated that NPU has always been deeply involved in China Space Programs and expressed his willingness to establish long-term cooperation on degree education in space technology with APSCO. Both sides also discussed cooperation on Annual Standing Committee Meeting on Space Curricula Development in November. Dr. Zhang Weihong warmly welcomed APSCO to organize this activity in Xi¡¯an and expressed that NPU has established University Alliance during China¡¯s National Space Day on April 24 2017 and would like to invite the universities of APSCO Member States to join the Alliance.
At the end of the ceremony, Dr. Li Xinjun and Dr. Zhang Weihong signed the Agreement for Cooperation on Degree Education Programs on behalf of APSCO and NPU, respectively. The signing Ceremony was observed by the distinguished delegates.
