During 23-25 May, 2017, APSCO successfully conducted a Ground Station Survey at the proposed Thailand Site as the follow up to one of the most important tasks in APSCO Joint SMMS Constellation Program phase B. Official from MDES and the Thailand project team from GISTDA, expert team from Project Lead, China, and APSCO delegates attended this event. During the site survey, current Thailand operating satellites and ground station were introduced by Thai experts, the SMMS constellation project technical flow and progress, ground station system and requirements was introduced by the project lead, China. Also, the site environment, existing facilities and infrastructure was thoroughly investigated. During this site survey mission, the technical information of the site was well collected with the excellent cooperation from GISTDA. The information will be fed the Project Lead of APSCO Joint SMMS Constellation Program as one of the input for the Hosting Site consideration at the end of design phase.
