Following up the Kick-off Meeting of Research on Atmospheric Effects on Ionospheric Modeling project (Ionospheric Modeling Project), APSCO Secretariat and the Project Lead China Research Institute of Radio Wave Propagation (CRIRP) successfully installed the TEC/Scintillation Monitoring Receiver in SPARSSO Headquarter, Dhaka, Bangladesh from 19-25 July, 2017. It is the Fourth successful missions of installing TEC/Scintillation sounding equipment in the APSCO Member States under the above project framework. During the installation campaign, two proposed sites by SPARSSO were fully investigated and assessed. Besides, the theoretical training on Ionospheric Study fundamentals, data processing and analysis, as well as the operation and maintenance of the equipment was also provided to the research team of SPARSSO. After the equipment AIT, the final results were successfully presented to SPARSSO Chairman and related officials.
With the full deployment of monitoring receivers in all participating Member States in 2017, the Ionospheric Monitoring network would be successfully established, under which all participating Member States would be capable of carrying on the joint research based on fully shared sounding data.
