The signing ceremony of Contract on ¡°Implementation of the system design and definition phase (Phase B) of APSCO Joint Small Multi-Mission Satellite (SMMS) Constellation Program¡± between Asia-Pacific Space Cooperation Organization (APSCO) and China Earth Observation System and Data Center, China National Space Administration (CNSA) was held on 27th November, 2017 at Headquarters of APSCO, Beijing, China.
The project is aims construct a system of small multi-mission satellite constellation including space and ground segments for remote sensing and integrated data collection; and realize multi-source data acquisition to meet user requirements; enhance the capability for utilizing remote sensing and integrated data collection to develop applications to meet user requirements, as well as conduct technical exchanges, appropriate training and cooperation.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by 40 participants from APSCO, China National Space Administration (CNSA), Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), and delegates from 8 APSCO Member States.
The ceremony was hosted by Dr. Manop Aorpimai, Director General of the Department of Strategic Planning and Program Management of APSCO. Dr. Li Xinjun, Secretary General of the APSCO and Mr. Tian Yulong, Secretary General of CNSA representing APSCO and the Project Lead respectively gave speeches and emphasized the significance of the contract signing and wished the successful implementation of the project. After the address by both contracting parties of the contract, Dr. Li Xinjun and Mr. Xu Chunrong signed the contract on behalf of APSCO and CNSA respectively.
