The Second Expert Group Meeting on Development Plan of Data Sharing Networks and Database Systems of APSCO was held on November 21-23, 2017 at APSCO Headquarters, Beijing, China.
All Member States namely Bangladesh, China, Iran, Mongolia, Pakistan, Peru, Thailand and Turkey actively participated in the meeting.
The opening was addressed by Dr. Li Xinjun, Secretary-General of APSCO who shared his views about the future of APSCO Data Sharing activities with the delegates. Mr. Liu le, Official of China National Space Administration (CNSA) also delivered a welcome speech to welcome all the experts in China on behalf of CNSA.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Mohammad Ebrahimi Seyedabadi, Director General of the Department of Education Training and Database Management of APSCO. On behalf of APSCO Secretariat, Dr. Ebrahimi gave a presentation on brief introduction of DSSP and activities of APSCO. He also explained the objectives of APSCO development plan on data sharing networks and database systems and expected outcomes from the expert group meeting.
The meeting continued with presentations. Mr. Xu QiLong, Senior Engineer of China Centre for Resources Satellite Data and Application (CRESDA) and Mr. Chen Zhou, Project Manager of ChinaRS Geoinformatics Co. Ltd gave presentations on DSSP phase I and II.
Experts from Member States gave presentations to introduce their utilizations of DSSP and proposals on training plan and pilot projects. Also their advices and feedbacks of DSSP were provided and discussed. ChinaRS and CRESDA agreed to update and optimize platform for better user experience and more rapid response.
¡°Five-Year Development Plan of Data Sharing Service Platform (DSSP) of Asia-Pacific Space Cooperation Organization (2018-2022)¡± and ¡°Regulations of Remote Sensing Data of Asia-Pacific Space Cooperation Organization¡± were reviewed by all the participants. The meeting unanimously recommended that APSCO secretariat submit the final version of the plan to the next Administrative Heads Meeting (AHM) for further consideration after collecting more comments and updates from Member States. Also, training Plan of RS application and pilot projects were discussed by all Member States, comments and suggestions were recorded in the MoM of the meeting.
It was recognized by all participants that the Second Expert Group Meeting on Development Plan of Data Sharing Networks and Database Systems of APSCO was successful, and the main objectives of the meeting have been achieved. APSCO highly appreciated the hard work, contribution, great efforts and continuous support from participants of the meeting.
