The 12th Meeting of the International Committee on Global Navigation Satellite Systems (ICG-12) was held in Kyoto, Japan, during December 2-7, 2017. There were more than 250 participants joining the meeting. As an Observer of the ICG, APSCO was represented by Dr. Manop Aorpimai, Director General, Strategic Planning and Program Management Department, who participated in the Plenary Session. This Session was primarily for the GNSS system and augmentation providers to present the status and future plans about their systems, and provided an opportunity for the ICG members, associate members and observers to provide updates on recent developments in their organizations and associations with regard to GNSS services and applications. This interaction encouraged coordination among providers of GNSS core systems and augmentations in order to ensure greater compatibility and interoperability and promote the introduction and utilization of satellite positioning, navigation and timing services; particularly in the developing countries through integration of GNSS services into their infrastructures.
APSCO delegate also attended the Working Group Meeting D: ¡°Reference Frames, Timing and Applications¡± and Working Group Meeting-S: ¡°System, Signals and Services¡±. A number of draft recommendations were also presented by each working group.
Besides the ICG meeting, APSCO delegate utilized the occasion and communicated with other participants such as delegates from Beidou authorities and representatives from International Association of Geodesy (IAG) and European Commission (EU).
