The upgrade solution on both hardware and software has been successfully implemented on the Space Object Observation Node in Peru from 24th March to 2nd April, 2018. During the upgrade and test campaign, the defected parts of the hardware were replaced, some software anomalies, especially on the servo system, were debugged, and the updated version of the whole system software was also installed. The overall function of the telescope was well tested. The resulted data from the tracking of some interested space objects was analyzed through the APOSOS Data Processing Center, and it proved that the system accuracy and stability was enhanced significantly through the upgrade.
After the upgrade mission completed in Huancayo, an APSCO-CONIDA Seminar on Achievements and Next Phase of APOSOS Project was organized at the CONIDA Headquarters, in Lima. Officials from CONIDA, led by, Peruvian Air Force Major General Carlos Caballero Leon, attended the seminar. Dr. Manop Aorpimai, Director-General of Strategic Planning and Program Management, on behalf of APSCO Secretariat, and Dr. Shen Ming, the team leader from National Astronomical Observatory of China Academy of Science (NAOC) made related presentations. After some discussions, the similar was closed out successfully.
Through active cooperation and supports from all hosting countries, all three telescopes of the APOSOS Network in Iran, Pakistan and Peru are now in full functioning state. They are ready for the joint observation campaign and Final Acceptance Review Meeting in June, 2018.
