The Research on Atmospheric Effects on Ionospheric Modeling Project (Ionospheric Modeling Project) is achieving significant progress. Following up the Kick-off Meeting of the Project in 2016, APSCO and the Project Lead, China Research Institute of Radio Wave Propagation (CRIRP), successfully installed the TEC/Scintillation Monitoring Receivers in Member States of Bangladesh, Pakistan, Peru and Thailand. The final installation has been completed at Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics, Mongolia Academy of Sciences (IAG, MAS), Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia during 25-28 August, 2018. As part of the installation campaign, on-site trainings on data processing and analysis, as well as equipment operation and maintenance procedures were also delivered to the technical team of IAG, MAS.
With this completed final measurement node, the APSCO Ionospheric Monitoring Network has now been established. The participating Member States can start their joint research works. APSCO and CRIRP expressed their sincere thanks to Communication and Information Technology Authority (CITA), Mongolia and IAG, MAS for their great support to the project and the hospitality during the mission.
