The Navigation Project was approved in the First Meeting of the Council and confirmed to be lead by China in the Second Meeting of Council. 13 candidate projects related to this topic were proposed by Member States. Among which two projects were chosen as the priority projects and other 11 projects were considered as the mid-long term options.
The Objective of this project is to conduct the Feasibility Study of Navigation Project and to promote the application of satellite navigation system (COMPASS, GPS, GLONASS, and GALILEO) in APSCO Member States.
1 The First Consultation Meeting on Feasibility Study of Navigation Project
The First Consultation Meeting on Feasibility Study of Application of Compatible Navigation Terminal System project was held in Beijing, China on 13 April 2010. 15 experts from the Member States and interesting countries attended this meeting.
The meeting including two sections: Presentation on Project Proposal of Feasibility Study and Project Feasibility Study Plan and Content discussion.
2 The Second Consultation Meeting on Feasibility Study of Navigation Project
The Second Consultation Meeting on Feasibility Study of Navigation Project was held in Beijing, China from 28 to 29 October 2010. 35 Experts from the Member States and interested countries attended this meeting.
The meeting including sections: presentation on proposed projects and the previous feasibility study result, confirmation of the requirements, prioritization of the proposed projects and detail of feasibility study elements.
Through the joint efforts made by the participants from the Member States and interested countries, the meeting was successful, the prioritized project list was created and the content of the priority projects were generally consolidated.
